Clangus is a tarnished brass handbell with thin arms, heavy boots and a clapper that hangs below his rim. He no longer has a post, but a hurried step still sends the clapper against the brass, and people come to their doors expecting bad news. They find him halfway down the street, trying to walk slowly enough to finish an ordinary errand.
